Ettiene van Zyl
Ettiene has 17 years’ experience in civil construction in New Zealand, South Africa and Swaziland. He started his career in construction as a Junior Foreman with Grinaker LTA, South Africa, from where he progressed to Site Engineer, Project Manager and Construction Manager on various projects both in South Africa and Africa, for large multi-disciplinary construction companies.
For the last 7 years he has been focusing on tendering and is currently Tender Manager for CB Civil and Drainage in Auckland.
He brings a practical and pragmatic approach to tendering and estimating, borne out of experience in project management, planning and estimating projects in infrastructure, 3 waters, general civil and roads and earthworks projects, ranging in size from $300 000 to $200m.
Ettiene is a strong communicator, regularly liaising with clients, independent estimators, engineers and subcontractors. He has a proven track record in New Zealand on ECI projects where he successfully delivered the ECI phase of the Waimea Dam Project in Tasman District as well as the Lyttelton Port Company Oil Berth in Christchurch. He is an affiliate member of NZIQS.
