Ranfurly Gully Wins at CCNZ Waikato Awards 2026
A proud moment for the CB Civil team - our Ranfurly Gully Wastewater Upgrade took the Category Four award (projects valued $10M - $20M) at the CCNZ Waikato Hynds Construction Awards 2026!
This project tackled the upgrade of an original 1940s wastewater system, which ran through sensitive gully terrain and some of Hamilton's busiest residential streets. It called for extensive specialist knowledge, careful methodology, and a team that could plan, adapt, and deliver safely in a complex environment.
One of the biggest accomplishments was the successful live tie-in to the Eastern Interceptor, which was a first-of-its-kind operation for the Hamilton City Council. This milestone was made possible with early contractor involvement, detailed planning, and strong collaboration between everyone involved.
Just as important was the way the work was delivered around the community. With homes, businesses, private properties, and busy roads all part of the project environment, clear communication and practical problem-solving were critical. Issues were dealt with quickly, and stakeholder feedback recognised the team’s communication as genuine, transparent, and collaborative.
The result is future-proofed wastewater infrastructure that supports Hamilton's growth while protecting the natural environment surrounding it. Congratulations to everyone who had a hand in this project - this award reflects a serious team effort, and it's fantastic to see that recognised amongst the industry.
